Business Overview
The Adams County Education Consortium Means Business we can’t do this without your help!
- A general lack of skilled, Colorado educated, potential employees erodes competitiveness and profit.
- Local business is not satisfied with the basic skills of potential employees. The pipeline into the workforce from our school system is increasingly leaking.
- We do not have enough students prepared for the high-skill, high wage jobs of the region.
- Growth occupations require education and training that our current population is not pursuing.
- Students continue to be directed away from certification and trade professions in spite of market demand.
We invite you to join this regional effort to crate a skilled workforce pipeline. No matter what your business or industry, you can help grow tomorrow’s workforce.
According to Adams County Economic Development’s 2005 Primary Employer Survey,
- 41% of employers are not satisfied with the quality of the workforce
- 38% of employers are not satisfied with the stability of the workforce
- 35% of employers are not satisfied with the available workforce
The Adams County Education Consortium (ACEC) invites you to join this regional effort to create a skilled workforce pipeline. Through relevant instruction and links to business for students, educators and administrators, we will enhance the instruction and success of all learner groups in the county. These learners are your future employees.
We seek to improve the average annual salary of the population and need to better prepare our population for lifelong learning.
Becoming involved increases the overall high school and college graduation rates. The collaboration creates futures clearly defined, attainable and readily available.
The Challenge
Toward a Competitive Colorado analysis revealed, “The greatest challenge we found in examining competitiveness rankings is the future of Colorado’s workforce….A knowledge-based economy cannot flourish without a public and private education system that consistently produces high-quality graduates with skills that offer the greatest potential for employment in Colorado.”
