The Adams County Commissioners’ Career Expo, a high-energy day of career exploration and professional connection, took place on November 15, 2016 at the Denver Mart.  Annually, since 2005, the Adams County Commissioners’ sponsor this event in an effort to bolster the career development of the county’s future professionals.  This year’s event welcomed more than 5,700 students from 35 participating middle schools and some 100 high school volunteers.

Students spend months preparing for the event through role play activities and other in-class career exploration, all with the goal of being prepared to interact with professionals and learn about career pathways. Additionally, students are encouraged to use this event to practice professionalism and leadership.

Along with dressing in professional attire, each student is given a sheet of personalized business cards to help them network throughout the day.  Of the approximately 5,780 students, employers were asked to compile lists of the “Top Students” from the day.  Proudly, we announce that 793 students were chosen by employers as demonstrating exemplary professionalism and left a remarkable impression with employers.

Here is a list of the award winning students.  Each star represents the number of times a student was nominated as a “Top 10” student by a business at the event.
