Adams County Virtual Apprenticeship Fair

Thursday, April 29, 2021
1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

This year's virtual event kicks off with a Career Pathway Panel at 1:00 p.m. with each booth host having the opportunity to speak for 1-2 minutes about their company/pathways, to give students an idea of what booths they want to visit after the Career Pathway Panel.

Students will then be able to move around from booth to booth from 1:30-3:00 p.m. in an Open House style, to visit booths and speak to company representatives.   Students will be able to hear more in depth from the companies/higher education intuitions they are considering pursuing a pathway with after high school.

  • 1:00 Career Pathway Presentation
  • 1:30 - 3:00 Booth Visitation Sessions

Apprenticeship Fair Information

By 2020, nearly three in four jobs in Colorado will require some education beyond high school which includes a certificate, two year or four-year degree. Yet today, only 46% of youth in Adams County enroll in post-secondary programs and only 39% of those youth complete their program within six years.

To raise awareness of career pathways and apprenticeship opportunities, ACEC is coordinating an Apprenticeship Fair targeted to high school juniors and seniors. We are seeking representatives from a variety of industries, including:

  • health care
  • skilled trades
  • advanced manufacturing
  • information technology
  • energy
  • hospitality
  • agriculture.

These businesses will promote opportunities for on-the-job training in high demand careers in an engaging and interactive environment.

Students from six different school districts, representing Adams 12, Adams 14, School District 27J, Mapleton, Westminster Public Schools, and Bennett, and out-of-school youth will have 90 minutes at the fair to visit with industry representatives.
